When I was young my parents divorced. This was my first memory of watching my mother become financially helpless. This feeling never left me and wanting to be able to help people somehow became just a lovely thing to do.
A few years later it seemed the most common way forward financially for most people was through property. So there started the story. Back then, my mother was fighting interest rates of 17.5% on a cleaner's wage just to keep the family home and three kids.
Since then, I have been involved with property from construction trade work to buying and selling from the time I started my apprenticeship to what I'm doing now. I came across and learned about option contracts a while ago and liked what I saw. It was one of those moments that made me sit back and ask myself if I wanted to do this and the answer was a resounding YES because this strategy aligns with who I am, my values, and my morals.
Looking at the process and outcomes, the best thing I found, and more importantly the key finding that sat best with me from this entire process, was that this business model, unlike so many others we see in business today, is that everyone wins. It doesn't work unless that happens. There is no place for greed.
Options allow win-win outcomes for everyone. Personally, they allow me to look out for the battlers like my mum and to have a hand in possibly changing their lives just a little, by either securing them extra money in a deal that would normally never have been offered or making a difference by giving them more time that they could not get elsewhere with a traditional sales process. Each deal is specifically designed, customised, and delivered.
Advantages for the buyer include specifically approaching builders and developers so that, they get to secure profitable future projects for their pipeline. This enables their businesses to run smoothly and sustainably.
Sourcing the right projects and presenting these jobs saves them significant time, money, and headaches with some peace of mind that they don't have to compete with the open market and bid at auctions that might not always go their way.
Either way, I know what I am doing here can make a difference and give me the opportunity to help change someone's life, in some way shape, or form, and to some degree for the better. That's what I'm in it for. That's my core driver. Everybody wins!
